   I have not understood what exactly you need to know, so I am giving you a little elaborate reply.

   You need DVD_writer to make DVDs which you can watch on ordinary DVD player. Please verify if you have DVD_writer or only cd-rom on your computer.

   Next, you need a software which will instruct the DVD_Writer to write the movie on the blank DVD.

   Free Software:– Down load ConvertXtoDVD which is a freeware. (Google it to get all download locations.)

   ConvertXtoDVD first converts the format of your movie file (or files) and then burns it on dvd disk in the next stage so that your ordinary DVD player is able to read the file and play.

   While converting the format the file size increases 1.5 to 2 times.
   {Your software displays the expected final size as soon as you "add" or "drag" the file in.}

   ConvertXtoDVD is a good software. Explore its various aspects.

   Go to http://snapfiles.com , there you can search for DVD players, freeware. They rate them and have several good ones you can download. Select freeware in the options there, that way you will not get a listing for the shareware. (Pay versions after trial)
